Plain and simple: we recommend gear we believe is worth the money, and we say what is wrong with every pick.
How we pick
We start with real products that have a real track record on the market, then weigh them on what actually matters for a grill or smoker: build quality and the gauge of the steel, how well it holds and controls heat, usable cook space, fuel type, and whether the price matches the build. A grill that rusts out in two seasons is no bargain, and we will say so.
Every pick gets a downside
No grill is perfect. Temperature swings, a small hopper, thin steel, hot spots, a unit too heavy to move alone, paint that flakes. If a pick has a real flaw, you will read about it here. We also say plainly who a pick is right for and who should skip it.
No paid placements
We do not accept payment to be listed or ranked. As an Amazon Associate we earn a commission when you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you, and that never changes the picks. See our full disclosure.
